  • 007 Workout of the Day

    Getting students excited about exercising can be a challenge. One way to increase student buy in is to make your workouts measurable. This allows students to track their progress and compete against students from other classes by comparing their score. If your students have access to technology then I would recommend setting up a padlet link (padlet.com) so that students can post their scores which will allow all students to view their friends scores.

    Named after the Roman chariot racing stadium, this activity is simple but pulls the best out of each student. Expect lots of sweaty kids.

  • 004 Buff Bullseye Game

    This game combines accuracy and fitness. The set up is similar to horseshoes, but I add a stopwatch that is used to reference an exercise that must be completed when your opponent scores. Hope your enjoy. - Coach Alejandro Orozco

  • 003 Week One - Fitness Journal

    Do you want to help your students improve their fitness scores? For the past few years I have been using fitness journals in PE to increase both student buy in and fitness scores. Students are more motivated to participate when they have a goal to achieve. By having a fitness journal, students are able to look back at the previous scores and attempt to best the time or reps. Making small improvements over time with increase their self esteem and get them closer to reaching their healthy fitness zone.
